Seashols & Bryan Save the Date: May 2016

Little did we know this would be the beginning of Carrie and Seash. I had gone through countless Save the Dates and decided that I definitely wanted watercolor details for our wedding. We wanted our wedding to reflect us as much as possible in subtle ways. Some of the details we chose are below and why. I have our save the date framed in our bedroom now.

Our save the date has ruffled Oyster shells (Bryan is from New Orleans and his favorite food is chargrilled oysters), a San Diego Rock Scallop (we always search for them on beach walks), California Blue Mussel shells (for Seashols, she loves mussels and our wedding was in California), a light purple sand dollar (purple for Bryans hometown), and seaweed vine sides to give shape to the design. We love brush lettering, calligraphy, and hand drawn letters. The organic looseness of watercolor painting leant itself to using the scripted brush lettering. It tied everything together perfectly.

We originally had a version in tones of all cobalt blue. But after going over my wedding invitations we decided to do the Save the Date in true colors. We fell in love with the William Arthur Green Side Edged Suite with Gold Engraving for the wedding details and ended up painting a watercolor map and a watercolor envelope liner. We clearly couldn't help ourselves. The more watercolor details we could add and design we did. It made everything so special for us.
